In this session, Gene will give a high overview of Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) as an organizational design framework, focusing on its:
– Big picture: Principles–>Rules –> Guides –> Experiments
– Three Adoption Principles:
* Deep and narrow over broad and shallow
* Top-down and bottom-up
* Use volunteering
– Organizational design implications (also mentioning various aspects of adoption: HR, Budgeting/Finance, vendor management, and site strategies)
Gene will also look at some key differences between LeSS and other commercially known scaling approaches (SAFe, Spotify, S@S, Nexus).
In addition, Gene will shine some light on the most classically known pitfalls organizations face, when they get underway of scaling. This will be based on Gene’s extensive experiences of serving many organizations and having seen a various patterns of scaling.
