Abstract
Your current role is a business analyst, project manager, tech lead or maybe even a Scrum Master. Your company has decided to become an agility organization and Scrum is the framework of choice. You were just told you are now the Product Owner for a scrum team. Now what?
Companies often under estimate what is required for someone to evolve into a Product Owner role. The organization believes the Product Owner will write user stories and some acceptance criteria instead of big requirement documents. Many individuals tasked with moving to the Product Owner role struggle with understanding their new role. Often, they are not prepared to take on the new responsibilities or even understand what they are.
In this presentation you will learn the shifts, skills and mindset needed to transition from your current role to the Product Owner role. You’ll understand what it really means to be a Product Owner, the responsibilities and ways to prepare for the role. You’ll hear advice from others who transitioned to the role and the challenges they faced.
