If you’ve worked with agile techniques, you’ll know that one very handy tool to have in your bag is dependency injection. In the Java world, this is often done using Spring. The Orlando JUG’s meeting tonight is on Spring 2.5 and beyond and should be great information for those of you using Spring as a D/I container.

This evening at the Tampa Scrum get-together, we discovered there are a *lot* of people in the Tampa Bay area who are learning and interested in Scrum. While next week is the first Agile Tampa meeting, I wanted to gauge interest in a Tampa Bay Scrum Group. So I’ve created a mailing list over on Yahoo! Groups that I’d ask anyone who is interested to register for. If we gain enough interest, I’ll put together a site and see if regular meetings would be interesting.

RubyJax’s June meeting looks like a fun one. It is Ruby Best Practice Patterns by Rein Henrichs and I wish I could be there (but I’ll be at the Agile Tampa meeting instead). Get all of the details at the RubyJax post.

Mike Vizdos from Implementing Scrum is going to be in Tampa teaching a ScrumMaster training course this week. The course is full, but the group is planning a Happy Hour for Thursday evening at Bar Louie at International Plaza starting at 6pm. Nothing formal, just networking with local Scrum people over drinks.

For more information, you can give me a shout (foyc at cornetdesign dot com) and I’ll pass you along to Maureen Loach who is coordinating the event.

See you there!

Adrian Wible is going to be leading an XP Game at the Fl. Dot Net User Group meeting on June 17th in Ft. Lauderdale. Looks like a lot of fun! All of the details can be found on the FlaDotNet Event Page

On June 16th the Orlando Scrum User’s Group will be having a meeting at the Altamonte Springs Panera Bread. You can get all of the details on the meeting post.

On June 18th, the first Agile Tampa User Group meeting will be held at the Microsoft office off Rocky Point. The speaker will be from a local company called Agilethought (http://www.agilethought.com) and is titled “Getting Started with Agile Development.” Get all of the details at the Agile Tampa web site - http://agiletampa.spaces.live.com.

Howdy all. This is hopefully the last incarnation of AgileFlorida.com. There are tons of agile events going on throughout our great state, and this site aims to keep tabs on the cool events. If you run a group and would like to be able to post upcoming events, just send us an email and we’ll be happy to make it happen.
