Agile Technical Practices, The Endless Quest (Bob Damato)

Despite urban legend and other outward appearances, Valpak went through  (and even after four years, continues to go through) plenty of growing pains in our transition to Agile. While our implementation would, by most measures, be characterized as successful, there were lots of engineering skill gaps and architectural difficulties that we stumbled through along the way.

This talk will go through a year-by-year playbook detailing the discoveries we made, the technical challenges we faced, and the skills and practices we learned throughout our journey. If you take only one thing away from our story, it should be that, when it comes to Agile, learning and growing never stops.

Bob Damato, Director of Software Engineering, Valpak / Cox Target Media

I’m an unabashed fan of Agile Development and software development in general.  I’m a firm believer in the credo “There’s always a better way” (and I’m relentless in my pursuit of it).  I’m an introvert who deeply dislikes public speaking (but I do it anyway).
