Abstract:
How do we help people be successful on distributed agile teams and dispersed organizations? What are characteristics to look for when hiring virtual team members? How do you know if a remote team is right for you? Mark will share his story of how he became a distributed agile coach and share some tips along the way. About Mark Kilby:
Now counting his experience in decades, Mark Kilby has worked in more distributed, dispersed and virtual teams than co-located teams in both professional and volunteer roles. Currently, Mark serves as an agile coach with Sonatype, a distributed agile software development company, focusing on automation of software supply chains. Previously, Mark has led agile transformations from startups to Fortune 50 companies. Mark focuses on organizational re-building, leadership rejuvenation, growing effective distributed learning organizations, coaching coaches and serving servant leaders. In his spare time, he likes to cultivate communities. He is the co-founder of Agile Orlando, the Agile Florida network of agile user groups, the Agile Open Florida conference and the co-director of the Agile Alliance Community Group Support Initiative.
